Exercise and Fitness

When IC patients flare, it can be quite overwhelming to walk, much less embark on a fitness program. Running and/or typical aerobics classes, for example, can exacerbate symptoms. However, walking that keeps the hips more level and swimming are potential alternatives. Given the predisposition that many patients have towards pelvic muscle tightness, exercises that strengthen the stomach can also be difficult.  That is why we are happy to offer three programs developed by physical therapists created specifically for pelvic pain patients.
