Irritable bowel syndrome is one of the most common related conditions to interstitial cystitis. Most IC patients struggle with IBS symptoms including diarrhea, constipation and/or a combination of the both. Amazingly, IBS has a surprising similarity to IC. IC involves nerve hypersensitivity in the bladder. IBS involves nerve hypersensitivity in the bowel. Diet can play a huge role in both conditions.
